Supporting Grower Associations
California and Florida are producing 98% of all fresh strawberries in the US, followed by North Carolina. It is important for us to know that growers in CA, FL and NC as well as the rest of the country support our work. Diseases such as Pestalotia Fruit Rot, Fusarium wilt, Anthracnose and many others become more problematic, while the risk of losing Methyl Bromide increases strawberry supply chains West and East. Alternative propagation protocols and genetic information that we develop in this project will help to strengthen the strawberry supply chain, open new opportunities, and help growers all across the country.
