Rachael Goodhue

Rachael E. Goodhue is Professor and Chair, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of California, Davis. Her research interests include agricultural policy, agricultural marketing, and pesticide use and regulation. Goodhue teaches Intermediate Microeconomic Theory for undergraduates. She teaches California Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Agricultural Commodity Markets for graduate students. Goodhue is a member of Gamma Sigma Delta and Phi Beta Kappa. Awards include the European Association of Agricultural Economics Best Policy Contribution; the Western Agricultural Economics Association Best Published Article; Most Downloaded Article, ARE Update, Giannini Foundation of Agricultural Economics; the Associated Students of the University of California Davis Excellence in Education Award; Verona d’Oenometric Award for the Outstanding Conference Paper; and Best Paper by a Younger Scholar Published in Review of Industrial Organization. Goodhue earned a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from University of California, Berkeley. She is originally from Iowa. She grew up on a family farm that produces corn, soybeans, alfalfa and beef cattle, and has an American FFA degree.
