Courtney Weber

Dr. Weber is currently an Associate Professor of Horticulture at Cornell University and has directed the berry breeding program there since 1999. His program focuses on developing berry varieties including short-day and day-neutral strawberries suitable for production in temperate climate regions. He has developed and released 6 patented commercial strawberry varieties. His has developed chemotherapy techniques in strawberry tissue culture to eliminate strawberry viruses for propagation and has a strong working relationship with industry partners throughout the U.S. and regularly interacts directly with growers through his extension program. His berry varieties are widely grown across the upper Midwestern, mid-Atlantic and New England U.S. as well as southern Canada.
